Prepping for your photo session normally involves making a few important choice. One being what to wear and the other being how to do you makeup and hair. I HIGHLY recommend hiring a professional for bridal portraits (they can be the trial run for your big day) and for boudoir, but maybe for family photos don't be afraid to do your own! One thing that most people don't know if that for flash photography you need to have a specific type of foundation. If you have ever had your photo taken for your face looks completely white...there is a reason. The flash is reflecting off the SPF in your makeup! You also need to check any moisturizers and primers that you put under your foundation as well. Here is a great video showing you a few foundations that work well for photo shoots!
If you are looking for a pretty classic looking makeup look is pretty neutral and affordable I really like this Video.
